Electric Scooter Delivery Checklist: Documents and Handover
Match the delivered scooter to your order, review its documents and get a practical demonstration of the controls and approved charging equipment.

At electric scooter delivery, match the vehicle, battery option, colour and accessories to your written order before accepting the handover. Review the invoice, applicable vehicle documents, warranty and service information. Ask the dealer to demonstrate the controls and approved charging equipment, and record any mismatch or visible damage before leaving the showroom.
This Dynamo EV handover checklist is for organising the visit. It is not a technical inspection certificate, a legal classification statement or an independent product test. The documents and instructions for your exact model and variant take priority. Keep the order and quotation available on your phone or bring copies so that you can compare what was agreed with what is supplied.
Does the scooter match the order?
Start with the model name, variant, battery option and colour. Where identifiers are provided, ask the dealer to show how the vehicle and battery records correspond to the invoice and warranty documents. Do not accept an unexplained substitution simply because two scooters look similar. If you agree to a change, get the revised order, price and included equipment confirmed before handover.
Walk around the parked vehicle with the dealer and note visible damage or missing items. Check the supplied keys, charger and agreed accessories against the order. Ask the dealer to show how storage, locks, switches and the display operate. If you are unsure how a control works, ask for another demonstration while the scooter is safely parked.
Which documents should I take home?
| Item | What to check |
|---|---|
| Invoice and payment acknowledgement | Seller, model, agreed charges and payments recorded |
| Order or quotation | Battery option, colour and included accessories match |
| Vehicle documentation | Exact variant and applicable classification documents supplied |
| Warranty terms | Covered components, exclusions and claim contact |
| Owner's manual | Correct model, care instructions and service schedule |
| Charger information | Approved equipment and the manufacturer's instructions |
| Workshop contact | Address, booking method and next inspection guidance |
Do not infer legal requirements from an advertisement or a model name. Ask the dealer for the documents that establish the classification and requirements for the exact variant supplied. If the paperwork is unclear, clarify it before using the vehicle. This article intentionally does not make a blanket registration or licence exemption claim.
Can the dealer demonstrate the first charging routine?
Ask the dealer to identify the supplied charger and demonstrate the connection and disconnection sequence specified in the manual. Have them explain the indicators, the conditions required for charging and what to do if a warning appears. Write down where to request help if the behaviour differs from the demonstration.
Your home charging arrangement also needs to be suitable. Do not treat a successful showroom demonstration as approval of your home's socket, wiring or parking area. Use the apartment charging checklist to organise permissions and professional assessment. Do not improvise adapters or alter electrical components based on a blog post.
What should I record if something is wrong?
Separate the issue from the decision about delivery. For a missing accessory, record the exact item and what has been agreed about supply. For a visible mark, photograph it safely and request a written acknowledgement. For a warning or unfamiliar behaviour, ask for an authorised inspection rather than guessing its cause or attempting a repair.
If an item affects safe use or the vehicle does not match the agreed order, ask the seller to resolve the concern before completing the handover. Keep copies of the acknowledgement, revised quotation and any collection arrangement. Do not mark an item as checked unless you or the dealer have actually checked it.
What should I know before the first journey?
Review the controls, parking procedure, battery indication and instructions relevant to the route home. Plan the journey within the model's documented guidance and your own riding ability. A dealer's demonstration is not a substitute for riding instruction. Arrange an alternative collection method if you are not ready to ride the vehicle home safely.
Store the dealer and workshop contacts somewhere accessible. Read the care and service instructions before the first routine journey. Our range planning guide helps separate listed range from the needs of your route; it does not promise a distance for every rider or condition.
A simple handover record
Keep one note with these headings: order matched; documents received; equipment demonstrated; issues awaiting resolution; and next service contact. Add the date and the person who explained the handover. This makes a later follow-up clearer without turning your observations into a technical certification.
For Dynamo purchase questions, contact the team or confirm an appointment through the dealer locator. Review the warranty questions before the visit. The aim is a clear, documented handover of the scooter you ordered, with no unresolved assumptions about equipment, support or model-specific requirements.
